One of our leading clients in the Insurance industry is seeking the following:
Position: Commercial Underwriter
Location: Hamilton, ON (Hybrid)
Salary: $75,000-$90,000
Duration: Permanent, Full-Time position
Qualifications:
- CIP designation, or equivalent level work experience and actively pursuing CIP required.
- Minimum 3 years in underwriting Commercial Automobile (medium to complex risks).
- Understanding of the trucking industry. Exposure to long-haul trucking, fleet operations, and cross-border ventures into the U.S. considered an asset.
Overview:
- Evaluate and underwrite new and renewal business within delegated authority for profitability.
- Ensure regulatory compliance through adherence to underwriting guidelines and best practices.
- Provide recommendations to increase a profitable book of business and support underwriters team with complex accounts.
- Contribute insights to management, conduct stakeholder meetings, and participate in special projects.
